About
more about the lodge...
The Sitka Masonic Lodge is one of the 19 Blue Lodges located in the State of Alaska. The lodge is involved in a wide variety of activities throughout the year. The masonic fraternity works for the good of humanity through its non-profit organizations.
The Masonic Temple, located at the corner of Lake Street and Halibut Point Road, has a Stated Communication and dinner every month of the year except July and August. They are held on the first Thursday of each month, except February, when the meeting is moved to the second Thursday. Each meeting is preceded by a dinner at 7:00pm; ladies and guests are always welcome. The Stated Communication is held at 8:00 pm that same night.
The Sitka Scottish Rite Club sponsors a breakfast in the lodge once a month, September through June, usually on the third Sunday. The Club also provides the traditional Maundy Thursday dinner and Easter Sunday ceremonies.
The Sitka Shrine Club is also very active. With meetings held on the Thursday following the Masonic Lodge at differing locations throughout the city, the Shriners are easily spotted by their colorful fez headgear that is worn at public occasions. Throughout the year the club keeps very busy with fund raising activities to help support the Shriners Childrens Hospitals. The Shriners can also be seen every fall as active participants of the Sitka Alaska Day Parade.
The entire Masonic family in Sitka gets together as a group for an annual picnic in July. All Masons, their families and guests are welcome.
